Why is gov't in the marriage business?

@yakyakyak69 I am not sure that even the government itself can really answer this question with complete, honest understanding. :) On the other hand we (I Support Davis) are simply a movement - independent, volunteer driven and non-profit, so while the issues of such and similar sort persist we will be sticking around. ^LT

To get to the bottom of any question, always start with asking... WHY? Then follow each answer with... WHY? When there is no answer to the last... WHY? THAT is the REAL answer to the original question.

BTW, it's wonderful to be "non-profit", but how do you pay for things like staff etc. without profit?

I personally think that same-sex marriage matter should be separate from polygamy. Homosexuality is not something that is chosen by an individual & marriage is a sacred union of Love, as well as it is a protection of the benefits & rights of spouses where a clear example is a case of where one is injured or ill & the other partner might not be allowed to be near their loved one at such difficult time due to legal matters. Polygamy on the other hand is something that an individual rather chooses.

We do not owe the debt the government does, They are the ones who screwed up and barowed money not us, it was not long agoe and our national debt was owed to counties we defeated in battle. We helped them reuild, we let them keep there countery! We did not truley owe them a thing.

1) God does not carry a gun, put people in prison or shoot them. Gov't does!

2) Gov't wants a marriage CONTRACT so gov't can dispose if it's collateral (the parents & children) in case of injury, death or divorce. WE are collateral for federal debt so WE are treated like property.

@yakyakyak69 As an Oklahoma minister I personaly do not believe the gocernment has controle of Marriage, Not true marriage. I will gladly preform the ceramonie and as far as true marriage goes It Means just as much as a ceramoney that is legaly recognized. The legal aspect is just for benofits, and a way for the government to make people pay there heard earned money to have the god given right to marry. If I preform the ceramoney than it is recognized by the only one who matters "God"
