What would you recommend doing for an elbow that has been broken in the past? I currently have metal plates and screws holding mine together, and have limited extension. I've been going to the gym, but have to avoid certain work outs.

My views have changed. Years ago I subscribed to pre exhaust supersets where an isolation exercise is immediately followed by a compound movement. In the last few years, I tend to incorporate post exhaust or potentiation supersets where a heavier compound exercise is immediately followed by an isolation type or single joint exercise.
