I've heard much disdain for the Crown Prince in history books over the years. This is the first time I've ever seen a clip of him speaking...and I agree with him. The Treaty of Versailles led to the disasters that were to come later.

I don't think so. The treaty of Versailles caused many of the troubles that leaded directly to Hitler and World War II.

@Marek640414 what an idiot you are. You talk about an issue which you dont even know about. Versailles enslaved millions, the rise of the Nation was the logical result of it.
Both world wars are Allied guilt, Versailles was the start of the 2nd world war! Read history, moron.

@kaiserliam It should be called DoV , not ToV -
Dictate of Versailles. Not "treaty". A treaty always requires consent. Germany never consented to this diabolic enslavement plan of Versailles, and never will.

@storicus many thanks for the information

Intersting....this guy would have been German emporer but for thw world wars....his English is impressive...I guess he spent a lot of his childhood in England with his British royal cousins :)
-
Damn right he was! The ToV caused mass unemployment in Germany and it's over-harsh terms made the conditions in which Hitler and Nazism could thrive, leading to extermination and World War. Well done France -.-

That's absolutly right !
notice the handshake. How dare a reporter extend his hands to a prince.

@gmxip Well I'm not sure. It's perhaps because the Kronprinz was smoking.

Prince Wilhelm visited the French commander of Allied Occupation Forces in SW Germany to ask him to detail troops to protect his property - the French General replied, after noting the devastation of Gemany: 'Monsieur, vous etes vraiment lamentable' Sums it all up really - the complete selfishness and stupidity of Wilhelm and his idiotic father, the Kaiser

@axelfalk1 The exact word was not "lamentable" I think, but "pitoyable" that is worst, because pitoyables is "pitiful"
