This was the first video project that I undertook almost a year ago. The original idea included a full fledged storyline with dialogue and multiple parts, but after only 1 week of hard work I realized how long something of that caliber would take to create. In the end it became more of a test video than anything else...figuring out some basics of the Editor as well as how to effectively use Premiere. I was still fresh to the Sandbox Editor then, so it's not all that great...animation flaws, poor camera angles, etc...But it's still fun to mess around with this 'archival' footage.

One more note, since the footage is so old and was not intended for HD viewing, I ended up modifying the scenes altogether to make it fit a 720p aspect ratio, which makes some of these clips look fuzzy. Created entirely in the Sandbox 2 Editor. Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

  • Ey its me again : p i spam your vids with questions. Just quicky. Did you record in editor or ingame? If ingame did you go into the game for every single camera angle or set it up as a sequence that swapped camera's

  • @azzafrrr I believe for this video I recorded most of the footage 'in-game' in order to get maximum graphic potential from the engine (antialiasing and the like which cannot be adjusted in the editor.) As far as each scene goes, they are almost always broken into their own individual parts as it becomes incredibly difficult to synchronize specific events and cues through multiple sequences during just one take. Also, I don't mind answering questions at all so keep them coming if you have more.

  • It took you how long to make this video ?

  • @MatakCry I think about 2 weeks... hard to remember it was so long ago.

  • Strata, you must work in Crytek!! All your videos are just epic. Crytek needs you! ;)

  • great music choice

  • I want your skill in ambients :( O_o!!! Amazing.

  • Ok fair enough. Appreciate the reply. Most people dont answer after their vids are up.

Ill tell yu when my episodes come out... if ever.

  • @azzafrrr Hmm... to make them die with force I would try placing an Explosion entity behind them and just executing that at the right time. I think that should work, never tried it though. Also, you could try using animation objects for the same effect but that could prove somewhat difficult...

  • @strata88 Yeah i originally did flowgraph command for AI. But like just say i tell them to run to that point and then crouch and look behind. They'd run there and pause for half a second and then quickly crouch and it just looks dodgey.

So what command do you use to make them die? Is it possible to make them die like with force as if an explosion landed behind them?
