    Yet we actually see anywhere from 20-50 flicker fusion frequency (biological equivalent of FPS) per second, depending on the lighting, peripheral vision state, etc...

    Think of it this way: We can only see 10 to 12 frames per second, so we miss out on all the stuff that happens in between those "frames." After you witness a "frame," your brain begins processing another frame. By the time it's done, you've missed thousands of frames. So you only notice 10 to 12 frames per second. A camera that films at 10000 frames per second, is way faster at processing, so it doesn't miss out on as many frames. Compared to these cameras we see the world as claymation.
