  • This recording is

    POD X3 > computer ? or

    POD X3> Interface> computer? or

    POD X3> AMP > mic recording ?

  • @fatfat2001 POD X3 S/PDIF out directly to the computer.

  • Sounds quite muddy for my taste. Way to much bass, a mistake a lot guitarists make. The main frequencies that are sweet for guitar are the mids and highs. Leave the bass to the Bass player. The tone here would have to be heavily eq'd with low pass and high pass shelves. Not to mention a good mid boost too.

A good trick for thickening guitar tones is to have a 15-20 ms delay. It really gives heavy tones more body.

    Just my opinion.

  • @samuxxn Wow you clearly know nothing about tone.

Dude, it sounds fine, for scooped mids, at least. I'm pretty impressed. It sounds like an amp, and doesn't sound all trebly and wheedle-y. The bass you're hearing is the bass guitar, which does unfortunately get a little confluenced with the guitar, mix-wise.

To the MC: congratulations on not sounding like kiddie metal. I can dig your rhythm, there, and that's saying a lot.

  • Having owned a pod for 3-4 years, and direct micing a 6505+ for some time I can tell you there's way too much bass, and a little more mid would sound nice.

Although, while I was happy with some of the pod tones, I never was happy with the quality which is why I went mic recording. Always sounded too thin, and not ambient enough. Just some tipz

  • @ShaunNelson1 you mean stereo delay?

  • Not bad, not good. Lay back on the low end a little and you got yourself a good tone.

  • DREAM THEATER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!

  • I would drop the gain for dream theatre or any sort of djent, but this is pretty good otherwise.

  • @ShaunNelson1 i'll try that because iv'e been havin trouble gettin my recorded sound thick enough

  • Im gonna get one of these, do you recomend it?

  • @MartinMoyan0 Nice Guitar Tone. Exactly like the Guitar Tone In The Dark Eternal Night thanks for the settings. Your The Biggest Guitar tone Freak Of ALL TIME! I Think =D Your vid's need Way more views.
