I participate in IDPA (among others) as well and these are some great starting drills for people looking to improve their skills. I am jealous you have your own outdoor area to shoot. :-) Great job on this vid...just subed your channel. Looking forward to checking out some of your other videos.

I haven't watched the entirety of your video, but I imagine if you could minimize your head movement, shoulder slumping, and knee-bending during draw you probably could shave .1-.2 seconds from your draw. I don't profess to be an expert but it has been my experience that any additional movement you are doing is just slowing you down.

That sweep is real cute without a vest. At first I skipped forward straight to the drill and was like WTF? Then I went back and realized your practicing a sweep and draw. Hilarious.

Thanks for the great video. It really is nice to see some shooting drills.

Great info. Thanks. I am going to get into competition shooting and this vid was full of great knowledge.

@twarfield1204 it depends on the style of shooting and type of sights. both eyes open with a rifle or red dot sight is preferred, with a pistol it depends whats comfortable. CAUTION you shoot a pistol with both eyes open at a target at close distance you may get DOUBLE VISION and think your on target but actually be missing it completely check what works for you, what feels natural and what you are more accurate with. PROS use both eyes open but cover the weak eye lens of glasses with tape.

@burnzorz the vest he wears would be over his shirt & pretty thin, not to hot & not a bullet proof vest, you don't move those out of the way. your question why should he wear it? well military, which i am former, and law enforcement, which i am currently we train like we fight. because in a fight you will revert to your training. he should wear his vest when training. i wear mine when training, ballistic vest with rifle plates and gear weighs 35LBS train like you fight/ fight like you train.

and the reloads.... um ever heard the term eyes/muzzle/target..... you never take your eyes off the target, so reloading by your belt buckle may look cool but you just lost sight of your target and now when you look up you have to find your target again. pretty ease for competition when targets are stationary. try that in a real world event... police/military or even concealed carry... and you just lost sight of the guy trying to kill you..... your dead......
could anybody tell me the name of the movie at the end? if i havent already seen it i damn sure want to!!!

Just found your videos and have to say outstanding job with them. You'd do an excellent job teaching new shooters as they grow into the sport.

good video. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and post it. Shot my 1st IDPA match today and need all the tips I can get! I shot accurate, but slow. That was my goal today.

No problem man , thanks for watching.
You did the right thing man , speed will come with time. Accuracy should come first & then as you practice more , shoot more matchs and your speed will improve over time.
Good job chris.
