Guys, this was meant to be a joke. This wasn't meant to be some social law. Also, it seems women everywhere are taking this personally like all men think that way...few do. It's a damn commercial, don't get mad at the whole male section of the species just because of a commercial that was meant to be a dumb joke.

@12astile: Not being a stupid idiot who loves ads like this (Chrysler made better ones for this car decades ago) will also make you decent.
-
@fabulous4137: There's an equally great solution for guys; DON'T GET MARRIED.

For everyone who seems to think there was no real sexism intended by Dodge, I'd like to remind you that in the entire series of these commercials (all narrated by Michael C. Hall), the ad for the minivan was loaded with reference to childbirth and motherhood. They're marketing to gender by stereotyping women as overbearing wives and baby-makers. Funnily enough, the minivan ad actually described the vehicle's features; the car's ad was just a list of human behaviors, NOT a straightforward car ad.

This is the result of women not having REAL problems anymore.

HAHHAHAAHHA i think its soo funny how the broads got pissy about this commercial HAHAHAH I LOVE IT! ITS SOO easy to get into their heads
You think this appeals to ALL men? The men I understand are the men like my father who work to help other people and love and respect women, and don't see the entire gender as a nagging, baby/wedding obsessed monolith as stereotyped in romantic comedies.

in defense:
"target audience yada yada"
"but women make up a larger and larger portion of viewers each year"
"commenting/discussing gives it more weight"
"yes, i definitely will remember this ad more than many of the others. so dodge wins.
but the alternative is to sit idly by and let dodge help fuck up the way men view women."
related:
"you don't have to watch it"
"yes, but i *do* have to deal with the societal impact that comes when you bombard men with images about how awful woman are"
