Still Al smoke can cause metal fume fever. I always use a dust mask when using powdered Al and i never inhale the smoke.

Smoke that is given off from Iron thermite isn't that bad, just vaporized aluminum oxide. This smoke, however, contains lead. Very, very dangerous. The camera was on a tripod and I was far away from this.
