Rescuers have found another body in the wreckage of the Costa Concordia, bringing to seven the current death toll following a maritime accident off the coast of Italy, the daily Italian newspaper La Stampa said.

While the captain is being blamed for the incident, the Costa Concordia liner has now also shifted and there are growing fears that leaking oil could cause an environmental disaster.

Bad weather conditions have hampered rescue efforts and attempts to remove the 2,400 tonnes of diesel fuel and 50 tonnes of oil.

Al Jazeera's Nazanin Sadri reports.

  • why aren't they anchoring the ship, and why isn't there a tanker pumping out the oil and fuel? PAY ENOUGH AND GET IT DONE! There is a high chance that there are people trapped in what is yet to sink into the sea.

  • worth $ 2.5,800,000.00

  • so thats like 712,000 gallons of diesel fuel ,dammn

  • *sigh*

  • Fuck the company. Yes the captain was at fault but fuck that company. You should be backing your employee, not throwing him under the bus. The company is at fault because they are the ones that run the whole thing. Blame it on one man. Bullshit.

  • How can I stay optimistic with this news? There is no stoping these stupid humans from ruining OUR Earth!

  • That is so horrible! And im the first! You people are horrible! Check out Naut Humon and The Proformers for relief.
