This year at the Great North Run I decided to take my video camera. I was running with my friend Charlotte and wasn't trying for a Personal Best or anything so I thought I'd soak up the atmosphere instead.
If you've ever wanted to know what it's like to run amongst 52,000 others for over 13 miles on a sunny Autumn's day but you are too unfit to even dare try it then now is your chance to experience it THROUGH THE EYES OF A eLitE RUNNER!! Me!
Apologies for any motion-sickness you may suffer whilst watching this video. I did try to hold the camera as steady as possible but c'mon, let's face it, I was running 13 miles! There was naturally going to be some movement. Although I do stop at various points to get a little bit of still footage.
It would also seem that YouTube's video compressor has taken a bit of a dump on some of my footage, most noticably near the end when the Red Arrows actually vanish! Still, not to worry...
By the way, thanks very much to everyone who sponsored me on this run (I was running for Traidcraft)! You're all super fantastic people. ALL O' YA!!
Haha, thanks Jack. Yeah, you'll see next Sunday, despite there being a million portaloos there's still a non-stop stream (pardon the pun) of runners detouring into any available space along the way to empty themselves.
And don't be nervous! It's the best atmosphere ever :) Good luck!

Thanks, Fallding, I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
And yeah, the atmosphere at the GNR is immense. I'll be doing it for the 3rd time this year.
Good luck!
