On Animal Planet's, "Fooled by Nature," killer orca whales intentionally beach themselves at high tide to catch sea lions during breeding season. Orca whales often team up to surround the sea lions, earning them the title, "wolves of the sea".

  • as all dolphins are whales (cetecea), and as the orca is the the biggest dolphin, orca is a whale, as well as a dolphin.

so no need to *grr*, don´t be angry, as there´s no point ´bout this quarrel - they are just beatiful beings, who cares if they are dolphins, whales, or both ;-)

  • i lost count of how many times they've said it --- but orcas are not whales, they are part of the dolphin family
