Having direct democracy, or mob rule more accurately, will not get rid of the problems. The founders of this country were well aware of the dangers of democracy. That' why we're a Constitutional Republic. Our Constitution was written to protect the liberties of the individual from the will of the mob. Majority rule is not freedom either. Getting back to the Constitution would be the best thing we could do. That and sound money. Collectivism will not solve our problems.
