Is one's nature defined by the nature of the family they're born into? Can shudra be born in the family of brahmans or something like that?

@moonrice The actual status is evaluated by the quality of one's activities. If someone is full-time engaged in activities in the mode of ignorance (drunkard, etc) then even if born in a high family, he cannot be considered brāhmaṇa. The body is a strong determining factor for most people, but with determination it is possible to change/elevate oneself.

@SpiritofDevotion It is possible to change one's varna, is that correct?

@moonrice This is an important topic. I'll record today's class to answer this question. It is not a trivial one.

Hare Krsna! Please accept my humble obeisances.
The melody of the opening Maha mantra is very nice. Where it comes from?
Where did you hear it originally?

@incimutlu Hare Kṛṣṇa! Please accept my humble obeisances too. The melody comes from the Movie Nader Nimai. In the beginning part where prayers are offered to the Deity. Any song on that movie is very beautiful...
