Chrysler hasn't let the rights go. They own them and defend it regularly. Even the Trademark, the red white and blue emblem all still owned by the reorganized Chrysler LLC. So I don't quite know how someone can use the American Motors Name when it's owned by someone else and defended. They own Willys and Hudson and Nash and Rambler and Metropolitan too.
Probably another start up with the rights to the old name of AMC. Probably have one model running prototype, and their factory is probably located in an old sausage factory. The same thing happened to Roy Gullickson with his "new" Packard Motor Car Company out in Arizona, and the "new" Studebaker with that real estate guy trying to get Studebaker going again. Blah blah blah.
Chrysler must have let the rights to the name American Motors expire. The real AMC is gone forever. From the 1902 Rambler to the final 1988 Eagle, and all the Jefferys, Nashs*, Ramblers and AMCs in between, the last independent us automaker is gone.
*as well as the imported Metroploitans and 55-57 Hudsons.

Wow this country needs this. Hopefully they take the term "passion" seriously.
Nice vid and totally unexpected.
