Goody is back on base and he's been a busy man! Since returning from Afghanistan he's spent a week in his local Armed Forces Careers Office, taken part in a live webchat at RAF Cranwell, presented achievement awards at his old high school in Newcastle and even been interviewed by the BBC! But back at Lossie the day job awaits and there are beastings and blisters on the horizon.

  • im hoping to join the regiment when im 18. just to get some a levels behind my back if it all goes wrong :P if i fail or dont like it (hopefully not) i was thinking of becoming a RAF helicopter pilot. i met sum guy when bag packing (im in the ATC) who was in 3 sqn in the 1st gulf war, he said you can keep your marksman badge if you go into the regiment. is that true?

  • @night6sceptre101 Hi, you need a minimum of A-levels to go forward to become an Officer within any branch of the RAF. If you're interested in joining the RAF Regiment you won'tbe entitled to keep your marksman badge as the Regiment would not be the awarding body for such a award.

    Hope that helps!

  • Whoever says an RAF Regiment Gunner is a poof then you DONT know what they go through on a day to day basis in a wartime situation and if you did know what they did for the United Kingdom and its assets you wouldn't be posting shitty comments putting them down because you yourself have nothing better to do with your sorry arse time, and because you have nothing in your life to be proud of to say yes i've done a good job, like all who in the BAF justly have.

  • Ok. This is really pissing me off.

Why is it that every little mug that comes on here and bad mouths of the RAF or the army, just happens to be a Marine.
