  • Something the video didn't mention and I learned the hard way is to place the bar on the lower part of your chest when coming down. When I first started benching, I placed it at shoulder height and got a lot of shoulder injuries as a result.

    If you bench press heavy you should be able to feel your biceps working HARD. Hence some top bench pressers have developed huge pipes without doing ANY "direct" arm workout, but just hitting the bench press hard.

    No, it's not the same as doing curls, but again, this is NOT a biceps bodybuilding exercise. It's a Bench Press. And, same as the Squat and the Deadlift, it is meant to be heavy. And when you work heavy my friend, most of your muscles are coming in the lift.
