Me my friend.
Great classic with a Chappo with hair. So about 1968 I think. If anyone has more info on this clip let us know.

Family was the first gig I went to c. 1972 at Portsmouth Guildhall. The next one was Family again c.1973 at Portsmouth Mecca ballroom. Next was to see Roger fronting Streetwalkers c.1974. Seen him all over the place and most recently at the Jazz Cafe, Camden, London earlier this month. Nearly 40 years on from my first gig and he still puts on a fabulous show. Roll on the next gig in March 2012 in Leicester, England.

I was there too and agree that Family blew everyone else away (Fleetwood Mac, Fairports, Ten Years After). They never quite reached the same heights when I saw them subsequently.

I saw them at one of the free concerts that they used to have in Hyde Park. It was summer 1968 and guess which band absolutely stole the show? I went to every Family gig I possibly could afterwards. Later configurations were great, of course, but I always thought that Jim King was brilliant. Impressing with cool musicianship only. Took a bit of doing when you were on the same stage with the amazing Roger Chapman.

Brilliant, not as good as the 'widescreen' album version though.

Saw them in '69,remember very well Chapman's 'hooligan' act with the mic stand.

Pulling another old rabbit out of the hat. Roger Chapman's band 'Family' were big in England late 60's- early 70's. They were truly innovative. Unfortunately, the video quality is pretty poor. The album was "The Doll's House"
