Did you know math can be crucial to building things in the real world, such as ramps, bridges and buildings? In this sample video our students set out to construct a ramp and use math to make sure they get it right! We hope this will help you get started with your own Reel Math entry. The more fun, clever and creative you can be while teaching how to solve the problem, the better. Then you can promote your video to your friends, and the video with the most votes will be declared the winner. Prizes include HTC Flyer tablets; scholarships; and an all-expenses paid trip to Orlando!
Please note: This sample video was created for the Reel Math Challenge pilot program. The sample problem featured is not a valid problem for the 2011-2012 Reel Math Challenge.
...next, can a 40-ft-high ramp be built in a flat field so that I can run down it with my hang glider and fly...?!
