This is the opening hymn from last nights worship service. We are only doing stanzas 1, 2, 3, 7, & 8. There were only 25 people there tonight, but they sing really well. The tune name is SINE NOMINE by Ralph Vaughan Williams. It will be obvious to some that I am not playing the exact setting that is in most hymnals, but more of a fake book version. It still gets them singing though.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I don't think you're playing the beginning rhythm quite right, though -- (there's a single note on the first beat, and then people begin singing on the second beat...)

  • @superoctave Yes, you caught me playing the Easy version ! I did not hit the pick up G in the pedal. No excuse for that. Not many would even know. Nevertheless, my congregation sang well with me.

  • Nice interpretarion, I uploades Ralph Vaughan Williams arrengement of this Hymn on my channel as "Todos los Santos Organo"

    I'd like to hear your oppinion

  • 1. For all the saints, who from their labours rest,

    Who Thee by faith before the world confessed,

    Thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blessed.

    Alleluia, Alleluia!

    2. Thou wast their Rock, their Fortress and their Might;

    Thou, Lord, their Captain in the well fought fight;

    Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light.

    Alleluia, Alleluia!

  • We sang this on Nov. 1, 2009, with 19 present for worship; a fitting conclusion for the All Saints Day service. Our small congregation is not frightened by "ambitions" hymns. Keep posting, please; your playing is to be admired to the Glory of God!
