13. Matt Smith (2010 - ?)

The closing montage of the Doctors features a remix of the 1986 theme called: 'Doctor Who (Extended Theme Remix)' by Dominic Glynn.

Worth noting is there have been other minor remixes/edits/variations to both the themes & titles over the years (approx. 30, and that's not taking into account cover versions.) Certain themes/titles have also overlapped (eg. Troughton's first few serials used the same opening as Hartnell, Colin Baker's first series continued to use the 1980 Howell theme, Tennant's first series used the same theme as Eccleston etc. etc.)

I recommend Mark Ayres' excellent article 'A History of the Doctor Who Theme' for more information.

The pages on TARDIS Index File & Wikipedia regarding the theme are also very helpful.

  • @PokeyBessie dude, people like who they like... Who are you to say that they can't like David Tennet or Matt Smith... I for one find them quite enjoyable, and you are sounding like a Cyberman, trying to force his "upgrade" on people

  • Christ, they went crazy with the effects on the Sixth Doctor's theme song.

  • Oh THANK YOU a thousand and more times for letting our ears feast on the Doctors' legendary theme!!! : )

  • @snoozleboogy You're just listening to the time vortex...

  • Modern composers are wildly underrated... Ten's intro theme (2008) carries so much power and beauty... Makes shivers run down my spine every time... So heavy, the closest to 'metal' an orchestra could do... And so fitting the spirit of Ten's series... And the rest of the soundtracks are bloody gorgeous!

  • Listening to Dr Who for 7 minutes plus has done something strange to my mind...

  • At 3:29 they discovered 3D art!

  • @bandboy11111 ooooh buuurn... 0_0

  • I have to be honest, I prefer the older opening titles, they're all great though

  • I think you missed one.

  • Look at all these comments I have to wonder if people are actually watching the entire video or are they just skipping to the modern day stuff.
