13. Matt Smith (2010 - ?)

The closing montage of the Doctors features a remix of the 1986 theme called: 'Doctor Who (Extended Theme Remix)' by Dominic Glynn.

Worth noting is there have been other minor remixes/edits/variations to both the themes & titles over the years (approx. 30, and that's not taking into account cover versions.) Certain themes/titles have also overlapped (eg. Troughton's first few serials used the same opening as Hartnell, Colin Baker's first series continued to use the 1980 Howell theme, Tennant's first series used the same theme as Eccleston etc. etc.)

I recommend Mark Ayres' excellent article 'A History of the Doctor Who Theme' for more information.

The pages on TARDIS Index File & Wikipedia regarding the theme are also very helpful.

* All footage taken from original episodes.
* Intro/Outro Theme: Möbius by Floorten.

  • I have a phone app of these

  • @PokeyBessie dude, people like who they like... Who are you to say that they can't like David Tennet or Matt Smith... I for one find them quite enjoyable, and you are sounding like a Cyberman, trying to force his "upgrade" on people

  • @ShadowNinja1995 Please every one knows that those 44 dislikes are a mix of Daleks cybermen and the master.

  • I love the movie theme. It has a very dramatic and cool feel to it.

  • The one at 5:21 is metal as fuck

  • All I can say is....Wibbly Wobbly...Timey,Wimey...Stuff...

  • @xOCandiePieOx Chris Eccleston's and David Tennant's themes are practically the same. Just an extra instrument or 2 might have changed. Still rocks!

  • @lookup600 I don't know of Colin Baker. What years was he the Doctor? The only ones I've seen is Tom Baker's, Chris Eccleston's (one I wished would've held on a little longer), and David Tennant's. I'm sure there's another Doctor now but I'm enjoying the hell out of David's. Too bad he had to get rid of Billie Piper though. She was a cutie pie! Met a girl near home that favored her on the face some. Uncanny! Thanks for the reply. Get back with me on what year Colin Baker was on.

  • The one I like most is the David Tennant one because it sticks to the 2005 theme which I really like but adds an extra kick with the music.

  • Honestly, I find myself more interesting in how the special effects of the opening evolved than the theme. Nice video, though.
