  • You guys are fricken awesome technician musician monsters! Very creative and fun way to approach making electronic music. I have always used simple midi data in FL Studio. I've never really tried bouncing samples like you have shown.

Just out of curiosity, what benefits does Ableton have over FL Studio in putting the whole track together? Thanks Durk, you da bomb.

  • @TheOfficialGlyphex Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. For me ableton is better to finish compositions becuase of the way it handles audio.Love how you can scroll trough minutes of recordings with a 2 sec clip in your grid.

  • Hello! GREAT videos thanks for these!

I know it's late to ask questions.. like almost 8 months. But! I'm still baffled by one thing I'm trying to make.. I'm looking for how you made the grainy high pitched sound at 0:58, as soon as the whole thing kicks in together.. The sound right before the first bassdrum hits.

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could explain how to make that grainy-ness! Thanks!

  • @SlaydCraven See part 1 of this tutorial series.

  • Hi, i was just wondering, you put one bass track into mono, the other you adjust with an M/S equalizer. What exactly is it good for? Do you have a tut for that?

I'm trying to make wide stereo sounding electronic bass music, but it is hard to do! Maybe some advice? Thanks

  • @piwipolavabo spreading the sound as the waves are faster (higher freq's). This will make it sound bigger.See my website and look for the splitting freq's in ableton tutorial.

  • They are great !!!!! , and if your at the point of honestly resampling bass , and layering granulated sounds to sequence a bigger sound ,quite frankly you should be able to fill in the blanks..............great job durk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (not to mention show me another video that even touches this technique you cant because there arent any i looked for them while waiting for part 3)

  • @GrouEEf No sample lib used. All synth patches are custom made. Maybe I should start selling them ;)

  • @Inphanity

try making equal and consitent changes in your automations with the different knobs on the granulizer, resample, compress, apply saturation distortion, then slap on dblue glitch or sugarbytes effectrix or gross beat that comes with fl studio. resample then cut out like pieces to a collage or someshit lol

  • Which track was this incorporated into? I have to check it out!

  • This is exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe I just need more time pitching and eq'ing or, "bouncing" my samples. I found some that were pretty close to what you were using. But it sounds no where near it. These are awesome bass lines.

  • pretty sick, sounds kind of like amon tobin

  • I've watched all these videos countless times and have no idea how your actually mixing the granular synthesis with the actual synths and getting it to flow. What ever lol, im not dumb it just seems hard, oh and i dont use abelton.

  • @LogicKidroy Sorry dont have a Mac ;) Routing in Logic is a bit limited compared afore mentioned DAW's, but there's work arounds I Imagine with sends and bus sends.

  • Sounds like Amon Tobin

  • my god i've been looking for a toturial like this for fuckin ages, thank you for this!!!

  • dude you guys are legit. the sounds you get are fucking tits. keep it up

  • @HumanworkshopRecords I know you got it randomly through the granuliser, but I'd like to know what the settings were on the granuliser at that specific point please :)

Thanks for the fast reply by the way!
