The gigantic Central Markets were used as Zeppelin hangers during World War I. Each building sells something different. Meats, cheeses, honey, fruits, vegetables and sauerkraut goods. One woman even had pates of Horse Meat, Moose and Moose Salami!

Produce is also sold outside the buildings. Some sellers with only one small item to sell and others had stalls loaded with anything and everything.

  • @lzakje Thanks for the correction and taking time out of your day to watch my channel. Loved Riga! Best regards, Travels With Sheila

  • Russian definitely is not more popular that Latvian language! They are less than 1/3 of population.
