@Planogardener lol gotta luv it! The following week, I won some daylillies at that Mckinney Master Gardener expo! Mannn.. I should have tried to win that Megamiillions! oh well. ;-P
I did check the compost bin today, its already warming up nicely! ..hmm wonder if I can win a compost thermometer someplace. lol

Unfortunately it doesn't automatically turn the compost!
I really don' t want to fuss with turning the stuff over.

Straw and grass clippings are perfect for the compost pile. My favorite mulch is oak leaves, since they crumble up quickly, to a fine consistency, and don't commonly contain seeds (unless it's acorns, and the squirrels find those rather quickly!) : )

@Helioforge whew...the video looked fast but its alot of work! loll I started with alot of dry stuff, with the straw and leaves, since here in Texas I'll be cutting the lawn once a week pretty soon I'll just "harvest" some more of the grass clippings and work it in. Yea that stuff breaks down fast. I know oak takes a while. Its ok. I have that compost tumbler which is definitely less work, but probably not as efficient... I don't think it heats up like a larger bin on the ground does.
