iPhone 3G run over by a car now has broken/cracked LCD & Digitizer/Glass

Here's an Apple iPhone 3G that arrived at MacMedics for repair today. It sadly got run over by a car while it was glass side down on a gravel driveway. The iPhone is still working, but the glass is broken (the digitizer) and the LCD (screen) that is under the glass is also broken. The back cover has a tiny crack in it, but it's not bad enough to replace. This unit will be fixed while-you-wait in about 5 minutes. UPDATE: This unit was fixed in 5 minutes by MacMedics and was returned to it's owner same day. Also MacMedics now offers the 3G glass/digitizer repair/service for $79.95 and the 3G S for $89.95. Those prices include the entire top panel and a 1-year warranty.

When you replace the screen does the phone still work? Does it matter if when you buy the new screen if the screen itself is for verizon or AT&T!?

It's just a "little" scratch that's all.
