A vid to one of my personal favorite films, Letters from Iwo Jima.

I've always wanted to make a vid to this film but always found it to be too challenging to even start something. Yesterday, for whatever reason, I was feeling inspired to make this vid. I really don't even know what kind of vid this is... if it's a trailer, promo, montage, music video... I just wanted to convey the film's story to the best of my ability. I have to say I love the outcome and am really proud of this edit.

(Sorry if the subtitles seem slightly large... I added them all myself)

  • This is an amazing piece of work. I'm Japanese and I think that, this really conveyed the spirit of the movie. It's intense, the suicide scene always gets me, because If i had lived in Japan then. That could have been me. And it's true, suicide over capture, if you run, or allow yourself to be captured, it is a worse punishment than death. Great job, I salute you.

  • @sakauyeproductions Being Japanese myself also, and having relatives who served during the war and survived hard times in Hiroshima... this movie hit so close to home for me. I could really really connect with it in a truly describable way. I really really appreciate your sense of understanding. Thank you for the love and thanks for watching.

  • Whow this is fan made..... Verry verry good, it so good it coud be a trailer. I idd two was looking for a movie from there site (japan) We only get to see the US site of it. No mater whear you live, people are people and the have emotions. Friend or enemy at that moment.

Some people do not love/like war films. I come from the nederlands and I find war film verry important . It's for that we never forget and always will rember.

  • @JolandaHeaven Thank you very much for watching and your kind words :) Yes war/historical films MUST be watched. It should be mandatory that they show these in history classes... and most importantly show both sides of a war.

  • Please do not leave disrespectful comments. War is war and EVERY country has a dark past.

  • Approx 303 sends a tingle down my back - great work

  • @btompkins10 Thank you. I appreciate it.

  • "letters from Iwojima" was sent to our heart to live for in the present age.

  • I cannot describe in words how good this film is - a MUST see

  • @magicstorm1 yes!! that would be good, its sad that they would fight for their country, yet that ass FDR still put their families in camp interments. which was ironic and total bullshit!!

  • カナシー。ナクソダゼ。

  • @sakauyeproductions I just caught the last 20 minutes of this film on tv last night but intend to buy it on dvd. It's wonderful! Clint Eastwood did a really good job.

  • only took 33 days to complete....haha clint eastwood is a genius

  • Clint Eastwood should make a movie about the Japanese-American 442n regiment that fought in Europe. 442nd is the most decorated regiment in the Us Army with 20+ medal of honor recipient.
