Since the beginning of talkies, Hollywood has given us few more blood-curdling sounds than that of John Carradine singing. Though released to television as "Monsoon," the original title of this 1943 masterpiece is "Isle of Forgotten Sins," and I'm sure everybody involved tried to forget these doozies.
Not only does Carradine sing, but the music director Leo Erdody accompanies the underwater treasure hunt with direct stealings from Wagner's "Das Rheingold." So you Ring of the Nibelungen fans have yet another reason to track down this immortal specimen of the cinematic art.
You don't see Edgar Ulmer cultists discussing this one much.
