Interesting note: Jiang Jieshi firmly believed that Tibet and Xinjiang were part of the Republic of China. The Warlords who ruled these two territories were loyal to Jiang Jieshi.

@lukebccb "ruling" is aan ambiguious term. as the documentary stated (props, it was BBC level quality- minus the accent of course).
he helped OVERTHROW the then present emperor/king. then went about damage control - he didn't have time to rule anytthing became he was stomping out hte commies and the japs.
succeeded in expelling the japs (damn impressive since they invaded beijing) but then got screwed by mao and had to abort mission and go to taiwan
