The following are the final moments of Q101 on WKQX Chicago (101.1 FM). Chris Payne hosted the last show, Local 101, which featured several call-ins and well wishes from people including Q101 original broadcaster James VanOsdol. At 1AM, the station (which could legally not be called "Q101" on-air past midnight) said their goodbyes, and Q101 ended a historical near-2 decades on the air. The final song played was the first song aired back in 1992 - The Cure's "Friday I'm in Love".
