RIP Mark Dailey. Harold Hosein laid off in lik e'03. Gallagher at AM 740 now if you want to get up really early like my parents do. This is when City was City, not some Rogers-owned empty shell.

Anne just keeps getting better looking with her age.
-
FYI Anne is on Global Toronto Now

true, true...and i actually like him more than gord or anne--especially because of his wit and humor...but of course, it's not the same anymore with anne no longer around...sure, gord and mark are still there, still standing, but anne was like the third "pillar" of the citynews team...
oh, well...business decisions...what can we viewers do?
-
They still got Mark Daliey
-
neither can i...i woke up this morning reading about that and i was just...holy cow...i've never tweeted and switched channels a lot like today. :(
i admit, i never grew up watching anne mroczkowski (i came from another country), but still, having watched citytv since the day i moved into the T-dot, it felt like losing a trusted friend.

I don't find CityNews to be boring at all. It's fast-paced, very fancy, yet it still manages to deliver Toronto's News like no other news agency. And I think that when they move to YD square, things will change for the better.

shows how really bland and boring citytv news is now
Bring back this intro for CityNews Tonight at the new place - I remember some people were visiting my family from England back in '94 or something and they saw this intro and said "wow, I've never seen the news start like that." Go retro. I know the media biz is screwed, I work in it. But give us something cool again.

i have to admit, i like the current "citynews" theme music, and the visual "uniformity" among all the city newscasts...but hey, this intro (the music especially) also merits a thumbs-up, just like their 1980s intros for "citypulse at six" ("gotta fly now") and "citypulse tonight" ("masterpiece", and the 1985-early '90s intro music whose title we don't know)...
buffalo's WKBW-TV went retro (sorta) with their newscasts last year. maybe city can give it a try. :)
