this is my old 28cc trimmer. I converted it with parts from wacker engines. I removed the gasket on the reid housing and used locktite 515, just a thin coat and used a thinner gasket betwen th crank case and cylinder. To rase the compresion a bit. It is useing a master air screw clasic 18-8. I can get betwen 6950rpm to 6990rpm and idle to 1350rpm. It now flying in my ultra spad stick the video is posted on you tube. The engine has lots of power for big loops and good power for the plane. The plane weighs 15 lbs with the skis. The engine with prop is 4lbs on the nose.

  • Nice - is that from the best engines? Looks like a do it yourself Ryobi kit engine - I also bought one from best engines on ebay & converted it myself. They are powerful alternatives!

  • no its my old grass trimmer, the head broke so i converted it to a rc airplane engine, from wacker engines. The ryobi can be convereted esely, if you have a lathe, or if you dont. Go to wacker engines and buy the parts. I got a prop mount, engine mount, and a mufler. For 69$, cheep for a rc gasser.

  • What size prop is recomended for flying, or what prop size ranges?

  • The engine is about the power of a 150 to 180 size 4 cycle glow. I am using an 18x8 ma. It works great, but I could go to an18x10, or a 20x6, or a 16x10, or 18x6. I tried a 16x6, and the rpm was about 9000. With the 18x8 it is 7200. With the original carb, it was 6800. Try not to run them too lean or rich or they will be sluggish in the air or will quit. They are great engines for a scale plane. A little heavy for a sport plane!

  • I think the table is too heavy to take off ;)

  • yes you are right
