The Green River Narrows kayak race is held every year in early Novemeber just s short drive from Asheville, NC.

You can pick up the High Quality version of this with other videos of the race on the free DVD at the Frugal Backpacker. (I just finished the DVD, and Ill be making copies this week. Expect to be able to get the after Thanksgiving.)
EDIT: (2-2-09) IT appears that Youtube has disabled the audio. You can take it out on WMG for that. I'll be replacing the audio tracks with something in the future. (Hopefully I still have all the RAW files to do so)

i wanna run this race so bad. i have a house on this river. the speedtrap aint fun tho XD the gorilla is the best

i have a friend erin that wants to run this later in her life. i told her id be on the sidelines cheering. ive got a jackson side kick and love it. the fuze is also really nice
i love watching ppl run the green river narrows, but im at the nantihalia's level right now!

wow looks like a short race like from the top of gorilla to the bottom. Is there more to the race? might be nice to see some of that
