@NickWatcher Hmmm. I'll grant you the flipper as his main variation when he was at his best, which is fair enough. But it's pretty hard to pick the flipper from a fast leg break or slider. If you're picking Warnie off the pitch and Murali from the hand, that kinda makes my point for me.

Some of these comments are just ridiculous - lets look at the facts - at the time (before the rule was changed) you could not bend your elbow as much as Murali sometimes did so thats why he was called. At the time umpires called a no ball for such deliveries rather than reporting to icc or whoever after the match (reporting after the match is a much better rule imo) so regardless of whether the rules were good or not at the time Hair umpired 100% correctly to the rules - Fact.
