The Toronto Symphony Orchestra thrilled local classical music lovers when it played the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre.
Prior to the show, the Orchestra performed for local school children at the Theatre, and judging by the applause at the 60-minute show, the kids liked what they heard.
The TSO has a Sault connection.
Trumpet player and Sault native James Gardiner, with the Orchestra since 1999, says it will be a little extra jittery playing for his hometown audience, but says its great to be here.
Gardiner's presence is not the only local aspect to this story.
St. Joseph Island instrument maker Raymond Schryer made the viola played by TSO musician Gary Labovitz.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra's performance was part of its Northern Lights Concert Tour.
