Gold filled watch bands, well, have gold on them! Typically they watch bands are noted as 1/10 12K or 1/20 12K and what that means is the top caps of the watch band contain gold on the outside, the amount of which is either 1/10th or 1/20th the weight of the caps. GREAT! But - you have to get the caps off the watches so you can send them to a refinery. This video talks about how to remove the caps and several potential alternatives. Suggestions are welcome.
