Peter F. Hamilton answers some questions about SF, his new book and why he writes what he writes...

One of the world's bestselling science fiction writers

Peter F. Hamilton's startling perspectives on tomorrow's technological and cultural trends span vast tracts of space and time, his stories are as compelling as they are epic in scope, and yet they are always grounded in characters -- human, alien and other -- who, for all their strangeness, still touch our hearts and fire our imaginations. Now, in The Evolutionary Void, Hamilton concludes the highly acclaimed Commonwealth saga that has unfolded in The Dreaming Void and The Temporal Void.

'The master of widescreen baroque' - Guardian

'Compulsively readable and abundantly full of ideas' - The Times

'Epic, multi-stranded, full of wonders' - SFX

  • LIESSS. i loved this series but he didnt finish up ozzies story as much as i'd like. what the hell was his girlfriend, where the hell did he port off to? what was in his personal medical chamber etc...

  • Love Hamilton. Commenwealth series is great. I hate labels, but 'space-opera' seems to capture all the elements I love in sci-fi. Yeah I know, I'm a sucker for the nostalgic idea of humantiy vs. all else. Embarassed to say but I even secretely enjoy the romanticism of PFH's novels (I'm total heterosexual, btw). I tend to avoid stand-alone novels, but in my opinion 'Fallen Dragon' is his finest work to date. Hamilton's right up there with Baxter's Xeelee sequence and pre-sell out Weber.

  • Genius

Best books of their entire genre

  • Hamilton, is the Ozzie-Damned God of Sci-fi.

  • I've just finished reading 'Evolutionary Void'. It was a mind-bendingly good read, as are all of Peter's books. I think Peter is perhaps the most, intelligent, imaginative and creative writer of our generation.

  • I randomly stumbled upon Pandora's Star just needing something to read for a very long flight. When Judas Unchained came out I immediately headed over to the book store after school. It is because of the Common Wealth series that I stayed sane through high school, and so far The void trilogy has kept me sane in college.

  • no messing!

  • A true genius of the genre

  • this man changed my life and view of books

  • The man is a legend
