I wore one like that after my elbow surgery! My surgeon was a nationally known hand specialist. (A hand specialist specializes in the shoulder through fingertips.) They say it helps you need less PT because you maintain ROM throughout. They took me out of the plaster and put me in the hinged brace within a week of surgery. I had both acute damage to two ligaments from an accident and chronic damage to the common extensor tendon from repetitive stress.

@atlanticcty85 OK. You were in the cast a lot longer than me, so you'll be in the brace a lot shorter time. Let me know.

@quilttyme he said last week the break was almost healed it had alot of calcification. but not enough to take me out of cast yet . so next week he said the brace will go on
