  • If your measure of how good an operating system is based on bootup time, then I feel sorry for you. For one thing, I doubt Windows 8 loads the Explorer shell in the beginning. The desktop is only loaded after you click on the desktop app from the Metro UI, which isn't the case for Windows 7. Hence, this isn't a fair test.

  • @Haiyami Wrong! Windows 7 only boots using one core on the CPU, windows 8 uses all the available cores to boot, so it will diffidently be faster at booting. Thumbs up if you want that ass-hole making unfair judgement to see this!

  • thats not a real copy of windows 8 its a demo they can change alot of thing on it cant compare anything yet like everyone said they benchmarked the amd radeon 7000 series and amd fx cpu's they didnt come out tell like a year later and it was better

  • @KDALove Actually, you can disable the Metro UI completely, and still get an eight second boot with the desktop UI.

  • make a test for shutting down time :D my win 7 boot's normal but it shutting down about 10 times slower :D
