A new Toyota.

-Info-

Toyota has introduced the 2012 Tacoma TRD T/X Baja Series at the Texas State Fair.

Designed to tackle the toughest terrain, the T/X is equipped with an electronically-controlled locking rear differential, active traction control and downhill assist control. There's also an increased ride height (up 2-inches in front), Bilstein race shocks and TRD coil springs.

The exterior is virtually identical to the standard model, but there are special graphics and bead-lock style wheels with BF Goodrich T/A KO tires.

Power comes from a 4.0-liter V6 engine which can be mated to a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. Performance specifications weren't released, so it remains unclear if the engine is the naturally-aspirated variant with 236 hp (176 kW / 239 PS) or the supercharged version with 304 hp (227 kW / 308 PS) and 334 lb-ft (452 Nm) of torque.

Regardless, the model will be available in Access and Double Cab (aka extended and crew cab) configurations when it is launched in the United States in the spring of 2012.

  • @genconex oh you know what anyother thing don't even think your smart pal like i said before i don't know if u was on another toyota video topic but like i said before it's global auto makers like VW makes vw's in portugal don't make it a portugal car even tho it's made there. and like gm makes buick in china its not a china car i understand global that toyota makes toyota in usa but it;s not a american car company.

  • @genconex yeah i got friends that went to Iraq and afghan even tho that might be true

didn't need that crap in WW2 we had jeeps and even tho people use them toyotas they still suck even i u put one on the moon its still gona suck i freakin hate toyota no matter what. had a friend who worked at a toyota plant in california and it went under. i understand they build them in usa but it's still a crappy ugly recall stuiped name japan based brand thats gona suck then now and forever.

  • @genconex your very dumb this as nothing to do with production im not talkin about that i don't care toyota sucks recalls ugly shit crappy ride cheap breaks down all the time junk im the big dog ur a little puppy how old are u cause u act like a dumb kid i know facts before im more informed than you. either way toyota sucks and it's people like u that think there cool wich should stop.

  • @genconex

I know that already and no it's not american truck its still japan brand get it throw ur head it's japan brand even tho gm and toyota had a plant in california but it went under. even if toyota is built here like gm ford dodge toyota is still a japan truck and still there profit goes to japan plus there trucks are ugly and the badge says it all toyota name japan name i hate it we don't need toyotas i hate toyota. and i don't care what anyone thinks about it. end of story.

  • @genconex Yea very similar to the trucks we used to see in Iraq. Not nearly as heavy though. We mostly took em on runs from the embassy to the different Provence capitals to shuttle state department and VIPs around when we couldn't get military escorts or a larger pmc that had some ass.

  • @Blacklung27

OK, I know what you are talking about now; what we referred to as the KBR trucks in Iraq. I have seen them armored to the teeth, but never actually seen them leave a FOB.

  • @genconex We used them as gun trucks because of the armor and good suspension. They didn't haul cargo. The F550's would escort the Suburbans, and land cruisers around to wherever we were going,

  • @Blacklung27 What were the F550's used for outside the wire. I have never seen this before. If there was anything that needed transported and required a heavy rig to pull it we outsourced everything to locals driving Jingle Trucks.

  • @FordBroncoBart So you can't dispute the fact that GM has outsourced parts to Japan google: gm slows production due to japan tsunami It is called globalization and "American Trucks" are not solely American. They are built in Mexico and Canada with parts from China, Japan, etc. Tacoma's are built in CA and TX with 10% parts made in Japan. They are just as American if not more American as a Sierra.

  • @FordBroncoBart

Since you are very misinformed here is a fact for you:

The first company that had to slow and stop production of vehicles following the aftermath of the Tsunami in Japan was GM. Why you might ask...because GM has outsourced to Japan to build and manufacture parts for their vehicles.

Basically if you want to play with the 'Big Dogs Stop Pissin Like a Puppy' and learn some facts instead of basic name calling or telling someone better informed than you that they are dumb.
