Since last month's rig explosion and spill of millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf, more than 3 million feet of so-called boom has been deployed along the coast. But it's not a fail-safe method of keeping the oil from washing ashore. (May 28)

  • Day38, the booms don't work, aren't maintained, poorly installed, and of no use if put in the marsh they're protecting instead of out away from the marsh. The break out preventer was broken, was not fixed, and blew, causing the OilSpew in the Gulf of Mexico. The skimmers are too few and can't begin to keep up with the massive OilSpew. The BigBox, the LittleBox. the TubeSuck, the blah, blah, blah didin't work. BP, start paying up.
