It is an extraordinary weather event which is alien to us in Scotland, all we get is Arctic or Siberian winds and snow, last snowfall was 3 feet, and it stuck around for weeks on end, freezing conditions at 10F, but anything below 34F over here falls as snow, I have never experienced this type of weather called freezing rain.

I lived in Kansas when this happend, it was all over the news the day before, then it just started pouring freeing rain. and through out the night you can just hear loud cracking, then SMASH!. We woke up the power was out. we went outside and it was like a whole other planet, I got 4 days off from school lol. and the tree's would trigger others by the cracking sound. I saw a squirell get crushed : (

Yeh, I woke up that morning of my birthday with no electricity--it sucked!

Not really considering all the damage and so many people out of electricity, heat and water. Good aftermath footage though.
