Cette chanson ne perd et ne perdras pas sa splendeur..
Les jeunes de maintenant n'aiment plus les chansons de ce tel genre.. Moi , j'ai 14ans et j'aime toujours autant cette chanson. Et aussi "un enfant est né" en duo avec Shirel , je vous conseilles d'aller la voir si vous ne la connaissez pas.. Vraiment une chanson magnifique, comme toutes les autres d'ailleurs ...

Fabulous performance - was there a tear in her eye at the end? My knowledge of French is very limited but what is it with the phrase 'comme un bateau ivre' - like a drunk boat? Is this a common French saying that gets lost in translation? A friend tells me there is a very famous French poem of the same name - is the song connected to the poem? Sorry for the questions - just curious!

I really do not know if the song was named after the poem. But the song expresses that she wants to be free for a while.

@CosmicCowhand, Of course I know she is American of origin but after so many years in France (36) you can easily say she's French. See also my website dedicated to her (fleurdefrance.nl).
