It was invented in Ketchum, Idaho. Scott USA has their headquarters there and was nice enough to let them use the "scotty" word but is not part of Scott U.S.A. Ketchum (the host town to Sun Valley) is a model town for "what could happen" if everyone was encouraging to each other and the typical billboard and shopping mall layout was OUTLAWED.
