Chemerkin's sheer power beats pretty much everybody in competition. If you haven't already noticed, he is about as inflexible as a bodybuilder, but he still manages to rack 260kg. If he were still in competition today and he could get something like the Charles Poliquin treatment, he'd be in the 270s for sure.

@bonesawII It wasn't my claim, and not necessarily David's---it was scuttlebutt on a message board. Most he was known to do in meet was 230 and at 94, still a great lift. Other rumor was he did 200 snatch in training. Rumors don't make a solid total.

steroids or not this is a huge lift, unbelievable, I can even see the sheer weight shuddering throught his body as he cleans it over head. One has to be big strong and maybe a little fat to lift this kind of weight to have the mass to deal with it.
