Officer Rick Helm arrived and learned that a seven year old New Berlin boy, Ethan Clinton, a cousin of the victim, observed the four year old underwater, swam approximately twenty feet underwater to the deep end of the pool, and pulled the boy from the bottom. The young rescuer then pulled the boy to the side of the pool and CPR was initiated by Ty Clinton, Ethans father. After several cycles of CPR, the four year old vomited and then began to breathe. Upon officer Helms arrival three minutes after the call, the victim was alert and breathing. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The victim has since been released from the hospital.
