The only reason why the body wouldn’t absorb nutrients from food or whole food supplements is because there is a digestive issue. In that case, talk to a physician about taking enzymes to help break down and absorb the foods that you eat. Of course, make sure you are being treated so that your body can eventually produce enzymes on its own so that you aren’t dependant on tablets forever. Unfortunately, many doctors like patient dependence which is why I don’t see conventional physicians.

Chewing ice compulsively has apparently been linked to iron deficiencies... lol I really would love to know how they correlate!

I had my DR test for vitamin and mineral deficiencies, he said all were normal. Sounds good but, at the time I was only eating meat, carbs and sugars. No suplements no vegetables and everything cooked till mush. So do I trust the DR and belive I'm wierd, or get tested somewere else? My B-12 was a little high.

I got tested at my regular primary care doctors office for b12 levels last month and found out I was deficient in b12. It confirms my somewhat lethargic feeling as being that of a vitamin issue, so now I'm looking into supplements. I was able to test for my blood sugar and vitamin D levels as well. It was helpful!!!

i heard UBAS is a good test...urinary bile something something to check liver function and correct bile production into the gut for proper digestion and full liver/kidney function.

i've tested for vit D, iron (serum ferritin), folic acid, calcium (in blood) etc.
the supplements sure did work.
my levels shot up.
thats why i get reputable brand supplements.
my multi-mineral tasted neutral so i used to throw it in my smoothie.
it is true that some supplements do not break down and pass through the body undisolved!

My supplements changed color recently so I stopped taking them. Did the manufacturer cut back on ingredients? Who knows. Since I don't, they're out. No more suppliements for me, just good, clean, fresh raw foods!!!!!!!
I received the email, are MD's open to Raw Foods. I don't think so, my doctor is all smiles for years when he very ineffectively treated me. Nothing he did helped to improve my health. After I cured my diabetes with Raw Food, I told him about that and I saw the subtle shift, he didn't question me, but he knew that I was no longer going to be a regular patient of his, I was going to go on to live my life healthy and free of disease and not be his cash cow.
