GoPro Motorsports Hero Wide Pitts Test

A quick test of my new GoPro Motorsports Hero camera. I mounted it on the left I-strut and the sighting device. Just recently started flying the 2007 intermediate, so I decided to put the camera through it's paces. Unfortunately your standard duracell batteries don't last more than about 11 minutes, so only about half the routine was filmed. However, I will be buying some Lithium Ion batteries which are supposed to last for about a straight hour of filming...longer than both what the SD card can hold and the aerobatic flight.

what mount did you use to mount it to the wing?

It is a home made mount for the wing. It is attached to the sighting device.

Excellent video, I'm looking to buy a Gopro or something similar to go on different aerobatic planes, among which the Extra-300 did you ever try in cockpit footage or 9G's with the Gopro?

I did try some in cockpit footage, which can also be found on my channel. It worked very well...especially with the wide angel Go Pro camera.

Also, I've only taken the go pro to about 6 G's, but I'm sure it would have no problem pulling 9. I can't see any reason for the camera to stop functioning. Hope you choose the Go Pro! It's an excellent camera! The quality is a ton better than what youtube allows, so don't let the video quality on here turn you away.

How did you mount it inside and outside the cockpit? Was it done with the camera mounts that come with the motorsports hero package?

Yes. For the cockpit footage I just used the supplied camera mounts with the 3M tape.
