A Nesting Killdeer and Her 4 Eggs

This is a nesting Killdeer with her 4 eggs. As you can see, she lays them right on the ground. Normally she would put on a display acting as if she was wounded while moving away from her nest, but I stayed far enough away not to trigger that response. An upcoming video will show that behavior, which is pretty showy and noisy. Pretty bird!
