his imac g3 and my imac g3 both have a dvd player and idvd is a dvd burner software that comes with ilife. sort of like windows dvd burner if you have vista.

MCE Tech makes a super drive for the G3. It might be more than you want to pay, but it is available. Where is your shield that goes over the electronics?

You mean the bottom of the computer? I had already removed it when i remembered i wanted to record this process...its on there now.
